Summary
IBM India Private Limited is looking for a skilled Data Engineer – Data Platforms (Google) to join its IBM Consulting Client Innovation Center in Hyderabad. The role focuses on data migration, integration, batch and real-time processing, and predictive analytics using Google Cloud Platform (GCP). You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable data pipelines, supporting enterprise search applications, big data analytics, and modernized data platforms.

✅ Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and validate predictive and statistical models for big data analytics.
- Design and implement enterprise search applications such as Elasticsearch and Splunk.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to determine data requirements and integration strategies.
- Convert and migrate databases (e.g., Hadoop to GCP) including tables, views, procedures, triggers, and functions.
- Implement data replication mechanisms (CDC, file transfer, bulk transfer) and expose data via APIs.
- Analyze non-functional requirements: security, high availability, RTO/RPO, storage, compute, network, and performance benchmarks.
- Lead workshops and discovery sessions to identify application dependencies, source/target database incompatibilities, and modernization strategies.
- Prepare project estimates, staffing plans, RACI charts, RAID logs, and adopt suitable tools and techniques for data migration and modernization.
💡 Required Skills & Expertise
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related fields (Master’s preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Hadoop, Google Cloud Platform, ETL, and data replication mechanisms.
- Strong experience in data migration, integration, and analytics.
- Ability to handle unstructured data sets and database integration challenges.
- Proficiency in designing batch and real-time data pipelines.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, capable of interacting with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
