Key Responsibilities
- Firmware Development
- Design, develop, and maintain embedded firmware for microcontrollers (ARM Cortex-M, STM32).
- Implement real-time control loops (PID, torque control, trajectory following) for robotic actuators and haptic feedback mechanisms.
- Develop low-level drivers for communication interfaces (SPI, I2C, UART, ADC, PWM, CAN, EtherCAT).
- System Integration & Debugging
- Interface with FPGA, motor drivers, encoders, and force sensors.
- Conduct in-system debugging using oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD tools.
- Collaborate closely with hardware teams for custom PCB bring-up and communication validation.
- Safety & Compliance
- Develop safety-critical features such as watchdogs, diagnostics, and error handling following IEC 62304 Class B/C.
- Support risk management documentation and maintain design traceability in compliance with ISO 14971.
- Partner with QA teams for firmware unit testing, validation, and verification.
- Collaboration & Documentation
- Participate in design reviews, code walkthroughs, and system integration testing.
- Create and maintain architecture documents, flowcharts, and interface specifications.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in embedded firmware development using C/C++.
- Proficient with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
- Expertise in debugging hardware-software interfaces.
- Familiarity with IEC 62304 and ISO 14971 safety standards.
- Hands-on experience with tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG/SWD debuggers.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant embedded firmware development experience.
- Prior work in robotics, industrial automation, or sensor systems is a plus.
