Summary

Chevron is seeking a highly skilled Senior Wells Engineer to join our Bengaluru, India team. In this role, you will provide expert wells engineering support, leveraging modeling, analysis, and performance insights to optimize drilling, completions, and well performance across Chevron’s global portfolio. Ideal candidates will have extensive oil and gas industry experience, hands-on exposure to well design and drilling operations, and the ability to collaborate with international teams to ensure safe, cost-effective, and high-performing wells.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering modeling support for drilling, completions, and well performance to the Chevron wells team.
  • Monitor drilling and completions data, delivering actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Run and interpret Torque & Drag, Hydraulics, Surge & Swab, and Maximum Overpull models using industry-standard software.
  • Conduct lookbacks, generate reports, and presentations for stakeholders to improve well performance.
  • Collaborate with Wells teams to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective drilling and completions operations.
  • Support performance monitoring, optimization, and benchmarking of wells.
  • Assist in identifying and mitigating technical risks related to well design and operations.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, Civil, or Electrical Engineering with a minimum CGPA of 7.5.
  • 10+ years of experience in the Oil & Gas industry, specializing in drilling and completions.
  • Strong knowledge of well design, directional drilling, drilling operations, and well performance optimization.
  • Proficient in running and interpreting drilling/completion models to enhance well performance.
  • In-depth understanding of wells engineering fundamentals, including drilling mechanics, well control, fluid properties, and performance monitoring.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate well design and operating parameters.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse international teams.
  • Flexibility to work shifts and travel internationally as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Hands-on field experience as a rig-site engineer, Drill-Site Representative (DSR), or DD/MWD engineer.
  • Experience with engineering applications such as ERA, WellView, proNova, Corva, and Power BI.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver innovative solutions in complex wells engineering scenarios.
