Key Responsibilities

Portfolio Management

  • Maintain and update Fair Market Value (FMV) tools using public transaction values.
  • Perform key insights reviews for third-party closed transactions.
  • Screen active permitting activities and competitor acquisition targets for deal potential and strategic alignment.
  • Conduct initial inventory characterization for newly discovered resource opportunities.
  • Review competitor Basis of Design (BOD) for transaction areas and compare to existing basin knowledge.

Non-Operated Joint Venture (NOJV) Management

  • Upload and maintain partner data for AFEs (Authorization for Expenditure) and technical analyses.
  • Perform economic screening of NOJV AFEs, documenting assumptions for capital, NRI, production forecasting, Opex, and price decks.
  • Track AFEs and maintain an opportunity catalog schedule.
  • Conduct lookback analyses on wells for performance, capital spend, and forecast reliability.
  • Support inventory cleanup and ensure alignment of well decisions with strategic plans.
  • Assist in operator intelligence reporting and benchmark assessments.

Technical and Economic Analysis

  • Conduct technical assessments and economic evaluations for shale and tight oil & gas assets.
  • Leverage reservoir engineering and production data to support investment and operational decisions.
  • Provide expert evaluations of AFEs for economic performance and capital efficiency.

Collaboration and Communication

  • Work closely with geoscience, drilling, and production teams to ensure integrated asset management.
  • Communicate portfolio performance insights and strategic initiatives effectively across internal teams.

Required Skills & Competencies

  • Expertise in portfolio management, NOJV asset optimization, and AFE evaluations.
  • Strong technical skills in reservoir engineering, production analysis, and economic modeling.
  • Proficiency in data analysis, Excel, and PowerBI for reporting and visualization.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Ability to collaborate across multiple teams in a fast-paced, data-driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Geoscience, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in reservoir engineering, asset management, or NOJV evaluation.
  • Hands-on experience with shale and tight formations preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability in technical assessments, economic modeling, and portfolio optimization.
