Key Responsibilities
As a Manager – Business Valuations at Deloitte Mumbai, you will:
Lead Valuation Engagements
- Execute business valuation assignments for transactions, financial reporting, tax compliance, and strategic initiatives.
- Build and refine detailed financial models using DCF (Discounted Cash Flow), market, and income approaches.
- Conduct comprehensive industry, market, and company research to support valuation assumptions and conclusions.
Client Relationship Management
- Serve as the primary liaison for clients, ensuring clear communication of project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
- Present valuation results and insights clearly and persuasively to clients.
- Foster strong, ongoing client relationships to encourage repeat business opportunities.
Team Leadership & Project Management
- Manage and mentor a team of analysts and associates, providing technical guidance and support.
- Oversee deliverables for accuracy and quality, including valuation reports, financial models, and presentations.
- Allocate resources efficiently and monitor project schedules to ensure timely completion.
Strategic Development & Business Growth
- Contribute to enhancing valuation methodologies, tools, and best practices.
- Support business development by preparing proposals, participating in pitches, and identifying growth opportunities.
- Stay abreast of regulatory updates, market trends, and emerging valuation techniques to maintain expertise.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Certifications
- Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is mandatory.
- Advanced degrees (MBA or equivalent) are a plus.
- Professional certifications such as Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Accredited in Business Valuation (ABV), or Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) highly preferred.
Experience & Technical Skills
- 6 to 8 years of progressive experience in business valuation, with at least 1 year in a managerial capacity.
- Proven expertise in financial modeling, valuation standards (IVS, US GAAP, IFRS), and industry-specific trends.
- Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with valuation software/tools.
