Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and build advanced computational models and simulations using proprietary and commercial CFD tools to improve well performance and operational efficiency.
  • Design and execute parametric studies through simulation models to deliver engineering design recommendations for business decisions.
  • Conduct innovative research and development on emerging fluid mechanics technologies and best practices.
  • Collaborate with wells engineers, drilling and completion specialists, computational scientists, and lab researchers globally to enhance subsurface technologies.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, documentation, tutorials, and presentations for internal teams and external stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building technical expertise in fluid mechanics and multiphase flow modeling.

Skills and Qualifications

Required

  • Master’s degree with thesis or PhD in Petroleum, Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering from a recognized university with a minimum GPA of 7.0.
  • Up to 3 years of research experience in flow modeling, computational fluid dynamics (CFD), and simulation applications addressing real-world business problems.
  • Strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics and CFD, with hands-on experience in numerical methods and engineering software such as ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, OpenFOAM, and Olga.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams across geographies.
  • Excellent communication and technical writing skills.

Preferred

  • Experience with data manipulation, visualization, and programming using Python or MATLAB.
  • Knowledge or experience in multiphase flow modeling and related challenges.
  • Familiarity with data science techniques like machine learning and optimization is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving abilities.
