Key Responsibilities

• Proactively chase and follow up on overdue debts, including high-risk customers within Shell’s portfolio.
• Negotiate debt refinancing and settlement agreements to maximize recovery and commercial benefits.
• Manage customer queries related to overdue accounts, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
• Identify accounts requiring legal intervention, such as bankruptcy cases, and coordinate accordingly.
• Engage with customers escalated for legal or collection agency intervention to explore settlement options.
• Maintain detailed records of collection actions, agreements, and payment plans for all accounts.
• Oversee and advise on portfolio management, including accounts handled by external collection agencies.
• Collaborate with legal teams and external agencies to monitor and progress recovery cases.
• Conduct regular assessments of customer accounts to determine provisions for doubtful debts.
• Monitor recovery rates and ensure cost efficiency in debt collection activities.
• Provide management information (MI) reports and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Guide junior colleagues on credit management best practices and compliance with policies.
• Ensure adherence to audit and business control requirements related to debt management.
• Participate in high-profile credit projects and deliver presentations to senior stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) freshers or Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or MBA preferred.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in credit management, with a strong focus on debt recovery, provisioning, and accounts receivable.
• Proven expertise in financial analysis, balance sheet assessment, and credit risk evaluation.
• Hands-on experience using SAP and Microsoft Excel for financial operations.
• Prior experience working in a multinational corporation, preferably in a Shared Services environment.
• Excellent command of English (written and verbal) and ability to communicate effectively in Hindi.
• Strong knowledge of control frameworks and compliance standards in credit operations.
• Ability to perform under pressure and adapt to rapidly changing environments.
• Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills, with a firm but fair approach.
• Results-driven team player with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
