Key Responsibilities

Laboratory Quality Management & Compliance

• Develop, implement, and maintain the laboratory Quality Management System (QMS) aligned with ISO 17025 accreditation standards.
• Ensure all laboratory operations comply with ISO 17025, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and other applicable regulatory standards.
• Lead and coordinate annual management reviews, internal audits, and external accreditation assessments to maintain and renew ISO 17025 certification.
• Oversee document control processes to maintain up-to-date procedures, calibration records, and audit trails within the LIMS.

Quality Assurance & Continuous Improvement

• Investigate non-conformities, deviations, and customer complaints; lead corrective and preventive actions to eliminate recurrence.
• Coach and support laboratory staff on quality policies, ISO 17025 standards, and promote quality awareness throughout the organization.
• Manage the laboratory proficiency testing program to ensure consistent accuracy and reliability of test results.
• Analyze quality data and trends, providing actionable reports to management for informed decision-making.

Risk Management & Audit Coordination

• Plan and execute internal audits to assess compliance with ISO 17025 and customer requirements.
• Coordinate with accreditation bodies during external audits and assessments.
• Conduct risk assessments related to laboratory processes to identify and mitigate operational risks.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong expertise in laboratory quality management systems, especially ISO 17025.
• Experience in performing quality control evaluations, laboratory assessments, and test validation.
• Proficient in English communication (written and spoken) with strong analytical and evaluative skills.
• Computer literate with regular use of LIMS, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software.
• Good understanding of statistical methods and their application in laboratory quality assurance.
• Ability to lead teams, train staff, and promote quality culture in a laboratory environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Science, or related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in oil and gas laboratory environments with at least 3 years in a supervisory or quality management role.
• Certified ISO 17025 Auditor with proven experience in maintaining accreditation standards.
• Deep understanding of ISO 17025 requirements and related quality standards such as ISO 9001.
