Key Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee specialized chemical testing and analysis in line with QatarEnergy LNG laboratory standards.
• Ensure laboratory operations comply with ISO standards and company policies.
• Design, validate, and verify testing methods; configure testing procedures to optimize accuracy and efficiency.
• Conduct complex chemical analyses and troubleshoot technical issues within the laboratory.
• Manage, assign, and review work of professional and technical laboratory staff.
• Develop, update, and review laboratory sampling and analysis procedures for accuracy and compliance.
• Oversee quality control systems, including proficiency testing (PT) as per ISO 17025 requirements.
• Perform equipment calibration, new instrument commissioning, and support root cause investigations for instrument failures.
• Review analytical data for routine and non-routine samples, interpret results, and recommend improvements.
• Evaluate competency of laboratory technicians and maintain a competency tracking system.
• Coordinate customer correlation tests and investigations of nonconformance or customer complaints.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong expertise in chemical analysis, laboratory method development, and quality control systems.
• Comprehensive knowledge of international auditing and compliance, especially ISO 17025.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills in a technical environment.
• Proficient in using Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) and MS Office Suite.
• Exceptional analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
• Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experienced in coaching, training, and competency evaluation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific discipline.
• At least 7 years of laboratory experience in the Oil & Gas industry, including a minimum of 3 years in a Chemist role.
• Proven knowledge of quality assurance and laboratory auditing standards (ISO 17025).
• Hands-on experience with calibration, commissioning, and troubleshooting of analytical instruments.
