Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the Industrial Hygiene Program (IHP) for QatarEnergy LNG’s onshore and offshore operational units and shutdown projects.
- Provide expert technical consultation and resolve complex industrial hygiene challenges, including physical, chemical, and biological hazards.
- Identify, assess, and control occupational health risks such as noise, heat, chemical exposure, and radiation in compliance with company policies and Qatar regulatory standards.
- Supervise and mentor a team of specialists in industrial hygiene, radiation protection, and worker welfare.
- Plan and conduct health risk assessments (HRAs), prioritize interventions based on risk and cost-benefit analysis.
- Deliver presentations and reports on Industrial Hygiene KPIs and program progress to management and stakeholders.
- Coordinate and oversee workplace inspections, audits, and compliance verification for hygiene, radiation safety, and welfare.
- Lead corporate initiatives on worker welfare, food safety, and radiation safety in partnership with government agencies and contractors.
- Facilitate training workshops on industrial hygiene and worker health protection.
- Interface with Medical and HSEQ departments to manage occupational health issues and incident investigations.
- Serve as the primary liaison with external regulatory bodies including the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC).
Skills & Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of industrial hygiene principles, standards, and occupational health risk management.
- Proven leadership and team management experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
- Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and report writing.
- Ability to conduct impactful presentations to senior management.
- Expertise in coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and complex projects.
- Familiarity with local and international occupational health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene, Chemical/Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Health, or related field.
- Advanced degree or certifications in Industrial Hygiene are a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant industrial hygiene experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory role.
- Minimum 3 years managing strategic industrial hygiene projects or teams.
- Fluency in English; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
