Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and overhaul various field instruments installed in QatarEnergy’s refinery plants.
  • Calibrate instrumentation to ensure precise and reliable measurements.
  • Assist the Lead Instrument Engineer in implementing best practices and standards.
  • Work with smart field instruments and interface them with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC).
  • Adhere to safety guidelines, especially concerning hazardous area classifications.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and instrument status.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support refinery operations.

Required Skills and Experience

  • 6 to 8 years of hands-on experience as an Instrument Technician in refinery, oil & gas, or petrochemical sectors.
  • Strong understanding of measurement principles, instrument installation, commissioning, maintenance, and overhaul.
  • Knowledge of hazardous area classifications and smart field instrument interfaces with DCS and PLC.
  • Familiarity with international standards and best practices in instrumentation.
  • Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
  • Experience working in Arabian Gulf countries is preferred.

Educational Qualifications

  • Diploma in Instrumentation or Control Systems Engineering from a recognized college or university.
