Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate reserves assurance sessions ensuring all reserves and resources documentation meet QatarEnergy standards.
- Organize and conduct reserves training sessions for staff in compliance with Petroleum Reserve Management System (PRMS) guidelines.
- Oversee internal and external reserves audits, collaborating with the Head of PRM and Resource Committee.
- Support the consolidation and preparation of reserves and resources content for QatarEnergy’s annual reports.
- Collaborate with Economics and Resource Coordinators during the yearly economics evaluation and business planning.
- Integrate business plans, asset plans, and reserves reporting standards to maintain alignment across teams.
- Manage reserves data to comply with QatarEnergy’s information security policies.
- Provide expert technical guidance and mentorship to asset project teams and junior engineers during the Annual Reserves Review (ARR) process.
- Ensure full compliance with QatarEnergy’s Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
Skills & Experience
- Minimum 15 years of reservoir engineering experience in the oil and gas industry; 20+ years preferred.
- At least 5 years focused on resource estimation, classification, and reserves audits.
- Strong expertise in decline curve analysis, reservoir simulation, material balance, and production forecasting.
- Deep understanding of reservoir characterization including geology, petrophysics, and volumetric modeling.
- Proficient in well performance analysis including pressure transient analysis.
- Experience covering all asset life cycle phases, from exploration to late life management.
- Skilled in uncertainty analysis and risk management.
- Solid understanding of finance, economics, legal aspects related to reserves and resource estimation.
- Knowledge of Project Stage Gates and approval mechanisms.
- Excellent organizational skills, stakeholder management, and database proficiency.
- Strong communicator with experience in multicultural environments.
- Fluency in English required.
- Desirable: Experience with a variety of reservoir types, geological environments, and working with major operators or consultancies.
- Familiarity with resource database software such as PHDWin or equivalent is a plus.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Engineering, Applied Sciences, or equivalent.
