QatarEnergy is seeking an experienced Sr. Mechanical Technician to join its world-class maintenance team in Doha, Qatar. In this hands-on role, you’ll carry out both corrective and preventive maintenance on a wide range of mechanical equipment including pumps, turbines, compressors, engines, and valves. Ideal candidates will bring strong mechanical troubleshooting skills, hands-on experience in the oil and gas or petrochemical sector, and the ability to work unsupervised in complex technical environments.

⚙️ Responsibilities
As a Senior Mechanical Technician at QatarEnergy, you will:
- Independently perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical systems and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair rotating and stationary equipment, including:
- Diesel engines
- Pumps and compressors
- Turbines
- Valves and hoists
- Cranes, turbo-expanders, and pig launchers
- Maintain detailed records of work performed and equipment status.
- Ensure all work is compliant with safety regulations and QatarEnergy standards.
- Supervise and support junior technicians as needed.
- Collaborate with engineers and other technicians during maintenance and shutdown activities.
🔧 Skills & Requirements
- Minimum 6 years of hands-on mechanical maintenance experience in the petrochemical or oil & gas industry.
- Ability to independently maintain, repair, and troubleshoot heavy-duty mechanical systems.
- Familiar with industrial tools and safety protocols.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive maintenance mindset.
- Good understanding of rotating and static equipment.
- Capable of interpreting mechanical drawings and schematics.
🎓 Qualifications
- Completion of 12 years of secondary education.
- Formal trade certification in mechanical maintenance (e.g., City & Guilds or equivalent).
- Additional vocational training or certifications in mechanical systems is a plus.
