Key Responsibilities
- Perform skilled maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on a variety of rotating and stationary mechanical equipment.
- Ensure proper functioning of equipment including pumps, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, and valves.
- Diagnose mechanical faults and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
- Supervise and guide junior technicians and contractors on technical tasks and safety procedures.
- Provide on-the-job training to Qatari Nationals, supporting local workforce development.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and equipment performance using computerized systems.
- Follow QatarEnergy’s health, safety, and environmental standards at all times.
Required Skills and Experience
- 6+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance, repair, and installation within the oil & gas industry.
- Proficiency in:
- Working with rotating machinery
- Diagnosing mechanical issues
- Using mechanical tools and instruments
- Ability to read technical drawings and equipment manuals.
- Experience supervising small teams or leading junior-level staff is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and basic computer literacy required.
Educational Qualifications
- Completion of secondary education (12 years).
- A 2-year full-time mechanical trade certification (equivalent to City & Guilds or similar).
- English proficiency (spoken and written) and working knowledge of basic computer applications.
