Key Responsibilities
- Act as Technical Authority Level 1 in aviation, providing SME guidance to QatarEnergy and Joint Ventures.
- Lead aviation risk analysis, operational audits, and performance reviews across aviation operations, including helicopter logistics, drone integration, and jet fuel management.
- Implement innovative aviation policies, procedures, and standards aligned with international regulatory frameworks (ICAO, IATA, etc.).
- Drive cross-company aviation projects, ensuring alignment between QatarEnergy and partner energy companies.
- Analyze global industry best practices to identify performance gaps and develop improvement strategies.
- Advise leadership teams on aviation safety, compliance, and strategic aviation investments.
- Lead or support crisis management in aviation-related scenarios.
- Create strategic reports and presentations for executive stakeholders.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum of 15 years’ total experience in aviation and energy sectors, including:
- 5+ years in a full-time aviation role as Pilot, Aircrew, or Aircraft Engineer (preferably helicopter-based).
- 10+ years in aviation management or as a technical authority within the oil and gas industry.
- Deep understanding of:
- Commercial and military aviation operations
- Jet fuel logistics, aerodrome management, drones/UAV oversight
- Global aviation regulations (SOLAS, MARPOL, ICAO, IATA, STCW)
- Strong leadership and project management abilities, with experience introducing new tools and procedures into complex business environments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for influencing high-level stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Proven crisis management and problem-solving capabilities in high-pressure environments.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Aviation, Engineering, Aerospace, Logistics).
- Master’s degree, MBA, or PhD is highly desirable.
- Formal aviation certifications or operational training are a plus.
