Key Responsibilities
- Lead global procurement of bunker fuel for QatarEnergy LNG Marketing (QELM) chartered vessels, ensuring timely and cost-effective fuel supply.
- Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations such as MARPOL and IMO standards, as well as QatarEnergy’s internal procurement policies.
- Manage spot and term bunker fuel purchases, evaluate supplier bids, negotiate pricing, and finalize delivery schedules to optimize operational efficiency.
- Coordinate bunker nominations and delivery logistics in collaboration with suppliers, ship agents, and internal teams.
- Maintain accurate procurement workflows and vendor information using systems such as SAP and Shipnet.
- Monitor supplier performance, resolve disputes, and prepare comprehensive reports to support strategic sourcing and budgeting decisions.
Required Skills and Experience
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in the maritime or shipping industry, with at least 5 years focused on bunker fuel procurement.
- Deep understanding of global shipping regulations, bunker fuel standards, and environmental compliance requirements.
- Proficient in SAP, Shipnet, Microsoft Excel, and Word for procurement and data analysis.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English, with ability to work under pressure and collaborate effectively across multicultural teams.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Shipping, or related discipline.
