Key Responsibilities
As a Quality Assurance Engineer (Automation) at Halliburton Bengaluru, you will:
- Lead and mentor a team of manual and automated software testers.
- Design, develop, and execute automated regression test suites for upstream Oil & Gas software applications.
- Support secure architecture design reviews and application security testing to mitigate vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate on test planning, defect documentation, and manage test execution results.
- Drive automation frameworks and ensure test coverage aligns with functional and security requirements.
- Participate in agile ceremonies, offering valuable insights for improving software quality.
- Contribute to database upgrades and schema changes testing.
- Advise on product improvements based on testing outcomes and customer feedback.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in QA automation, preferably in upstream Oil & Gas or similar technical domains.
- Strong understanding of software testing life cycle and quality assurance methodologies.
Technical Skills
- Mandatory: Expert-level experience with Cypress automation testing and JavaScript scripting.
- Experience with automation tools: Selenium, Postman/Newman, JMeter, Jasmine.
- Skilled in shell scripting (bash) for test automation in CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and tools such as Azure DevOps, JIRA, and TFS.
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Maven, Ansible, and container orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
- Experience with databases: SQL Server, PostgreSQL (preferred).
- Comfortable working in both Windows and Linux environments.
- Exposure to cloud platforms like Azure and AWS is a plus.
- Strong grasp of secure coding practices and application security testing.
