Key Responsibilities

• SOAR Playbook Development: Design, develop, and maintain SOAR playbooks for automated threat detection and response to streamline security operations.
• Automation Integration: Integrate and enhance automation workflows using Python scripting and XSOAR’s automation engine.
• Security Tool Integration: Implement SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar) and other security tools (EDR, threat intel feeds) into the SOAR environment.
• Optimization & Tuning: Tune existing playbooks for performance, accuracy, and false positive reduction.
• Documentation: Create detailed documentation for playbook logic, incident handling procedures, and automation scripts.
• Mentorship: Provide guidance and support to L1 SOC analysts, contributing to knowledge sharing within the team.
• Cyber Security Expertise: Stay updated on cybersecurity trends such as malware, phishing, and frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK.

Skills & Qualifications

Required Skills

• SOAR Playbooks: Strong hands-on experience in Cortex XSOAR playbook development and automation workflows.
• Python Scripting: Proficiency in Python for developing custom scripts and automation solutions in the SOAR environment.
• SIEM Tools: Familiarity with SIEM platforms (e.g., Splunk, QRadar, Elastic) for threat detection and incident response.
• Cyber Security Concepts: Understanding of essential cybersecurity principles including malware detection, phishing, and threat intelligence.
• Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve security incidents quickly and effectively.
• Team Collaboration: Ability to work both independently and within a team, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills

• Incident Response: Knowledge of incident response frameworks such as NIST and SANS.
• SOAR Certification: SOAR Certified Automation Engineer is a plus.
• Automation Tools: Experience with other automation tools for security orchestration is a plus.

Education & Experience

• Degree: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• Experience: Minimum of 3+ years in cybersecurity with a focus on SOAR, automation, and playbook development.
• Certifications: Any relevant certifications in cybersecurity (e.g., CISSP, CISA) are a plus.
