Key Responsibilities

As a Senior CAD/CAE Support Engineer, your core duties will include:

  • Providing Level 1 & 2 technical support for key CAD and CAE tools including Siemens NX, ANSYS, Delmia, Vis-Mockup, Hypermesh, LS-PrePost, and JT formats.
  • Troubleshooting software installations, license issues, performance bottlenecks, and CAD file corruptions.
  • Supporting CAD data handling, file conversion, and visualization workflows using tools like OpenJT.
  • Assisting design engineers with modeling errors, file compatibility issues, and version control.
  • Documenting technical resolutions, creating SOPs, FAQs, and training guides for end users.
  • Collaborating with infrastructure and PLM (e.g., Teamcenter) teams for CAD-PLM integration and automation support.
  • Performing regression testing for new software releases, upgrades, and patches.
  • Advising on CAD/CAE best practices, simulation workflows, and engineering productivity improvements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

To qualify for this CAD/CAE Engineering Support role, you must have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 6 to 9 years of experience supporting CAD and CAE software.
  • Expertise in Siemens NX and Delmia (especially process simulation and robotics modules).
  • Experience working with ANSYS, Hypermesh, Vis-Mockup, LS-PrePost, and JT/OpenJT file formats.
  • Strong grasp of CAD data structures, product assembly configurations, and lightweight visualization tools.
  • Basic understanding of PLM/PDM platforms (such as Teamcenter).
  • Experience using ticketing systems like ServiceNow or Jira for support tracking.
  • Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Exposure to the automotive or manufacturing domain is highly desirable.
  • Certification in CAD or CAE tools is a plus.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior involvement in large-scale OEM environments or engineering transformation projects.
  • Familiarity with digital twin technologies and enterprise CAD/CAE workflows.
