About the Role
As a Senior Executive – Server Administration, you’ll be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and security of Deloitte’s IT infrastructure. You’ll manage server configuration, system upgrades, cloud operations, and disaster recovery, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to maintain seamless service delivery.
This role demands a strong foundation in Windows/Linux server management, network security, and cloud-based environments (AWS/Azure), combined with an analytical and proactive approach to solving complex IT challenges.
Key Responsibilities
Server Administration & Maintenance
- Configure and administer Windows and Linux servers to ensure optimal performance.
- Conduct system hardening, updates, and patch management to enhance security and reliability.
- Perform server reinstallation in case of failures or crashes, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Regularly execute system health checks, analyze logs, and troubleshoot issues proactively.
Infrastructure & Security Management
- Manage user accounts, roles, and access permissions across subsystems.
- Implement and monitor firewalls, load balancers, and intrusion detection systems.
- Maintain compliance with IT security policies for internet, intranet, and application-level access.
- Oversee data backup and disaster recovery procedures for critical systems and databases.
Cloud & Automation
- Configure and maintain AWS/Azure cloud infrastructure and application backups.
- Manage server scaling, high availability, and disaster recovery setups.
- Maintain code repository servers and manage access configurations.
- Integrate automation scripts to streamline server operations and improve efficiency.
Process & Performance Optimization
- Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for IT infrastructure management.
- Monitor performance metrics, recommend improvements, and ensure uptime standards are met.
- Collaborate with IT security, application, and networking teams for continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Full-time Graduate or Engineering degree in any discipline.
- Experience: Minimum 3 years in Server Administration, IT Infrastructure, or Cloud Management.
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server and Linux Server Administration.
- Experience with SCCM/MECM, AWS, and Microsoft Azure environments.
- Proficiency in firewalls, virtualization, load balancing, and system hardening.
- Understanding of data backup, recovery, and cybersecurity principles.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work across teams.
Preferred Attributes
- Certification in AWS, Azure, or Microsoft Server Administration is a plus.
- Experience in cloud automation, scripting, or DevOps environments.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or similar.
Work Environment
- Base Location: Kolkata (Preferred)
- Alternate Work Locations: Mumbai or Bangalore
- Work Mode: Hybrid – balance between on-site and remote work.
- Travel: Occasional travel to Deloitte offices or client sites may be required.
