Summary
KPMG Global Services (KGS) is seeking a Senior Associate – Global Mobility Tax to join our dynamic tax and compliance team in Bangalore and Hyderabad. In this role, you will provide tax compliance, payroll, and international assignment support for expatriate employees across KPMG firms globally. Key Responsibilities
Tax Compliance & Advisory
- Prepare and review miscellaneous tax, payroll, and international assignment cost projections.
- Manage tax returns, equalization calculations, and expatriate tax forms.
- Apply technical tax expertise in compliance, compensation, global equity, and employment tax matters.
- Participate in or lead global mobility projects, including foreign national tax, payroll, pensions, and global compensation reviews.
- Conduct tax research and apply tax theory to client-specific scenarios.
- Draft correspondence with IRS or state tax authorities for expatriate audits or notices.
- Review U.S. payroll reporting and withholding for expatriate employees.
- Mentor and train new joiners on expatriate taxation processes.
Project & Team Management
- Support engagement managers in coordination, technical guidance, and project delivery.
- Assist in preparing presentations, reports, and benchmarking analyses.
- Participate actively in knowledge sharing and team initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, timelines, and project standards.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of individual taxation, income tax regulations, and global mobility tax.
- Experience in U.S. and international payroll processing and tax compliance.
- Proficiency in MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical, advisory, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to multi-task, manage priorities, and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Training and mentoring skills for junior team members.
Qualifications
- Education: Master’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Certifications: Enrolled Agent (EA) or pursuing EA certification.
- Experience: 5–6 years in a similar tax or global mobility role, preferably in a Big 4 firm.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Financial Services sector from a global mobility tax perspective.
- Awareness of U.S. political and economic environment.
- Prior exposure to international assignment cost projections and expatriate payroll management.
