Key Responsibilities

As a Deputy Manager – NLP/Gen AI Data Scientist, your role will include:

• NLP Model Development – Build advanced models for text classification, entity extraction, summarization, and conversational AI.
• Generative AI Applications – Develop and fine-tune transformer-based architectures (BERT, GPT, LLMs) for business use cases.
• Data Preprocessing & Feature Engineering – Clean, prepare, and structure large datasets using embeddings, n-grams, and syntactic features.
• Model Evaluation & Validation – Conduct rigorous testing using statistical metrics to ensure model accuracy and scalability.
• AI Integration – Work with product teams to embed NLP/Gen AI solutions into enterprise-grade systems.
• Research & Innovation – Stay updated on AI/ML trends, publish findings, and drive innovation within Deloitte’s AI ecosystem.
• Data Analysis & Visualization – Interpret model results and present insights using tools like Matplotlib, Seaborn, and Plotly.
• Documentation & Reporting – Prepare clear reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications

Education

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Engineering.

Experience

• 5+ years in Data Science with a strong focus on NLP and Generative AI.
• 2+ years of hands-on expertise in Gen AI model development.

Technical Expertise

• Strong knowledge of machine learning, deep learning, NLP algorithms, and LLMs.
• Proficiency in Python, R, and libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, spaCy, NLTK, Scikit-learn.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and ML Ops best practices.
• Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP preferred.

Preferred Skills

• Hands-on with transformer-based models (BERT, GPT, etc.).
• Experience in chatbots, document understanding, and knowledge extraction.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
