Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Conduct cognitive task analyses for multimodal workflows including voice, chat, dashboards, and ambient signals.
- Translate cognitive insights into system-level requirements for AI agents, decision support tools, and automation pipelines.
- Model human workload, attention, and modality-switching costs across text, charts, and speech.
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to ensure cognitive principles guide system design.
- Design and evaluate cross-modal decision support frameworks, determining when AI should speak, display information, or remain silent.
- Develop frameworks for trust calibration and cognitive fit in human–AI interactions.
- Conduct simulations and user-in-the-loop experiments to test system performance across multiple modalities.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Advanced degree in Cognitive Engineering, Human Factors, Applied Cognitive Psychology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.
- 5+ years of applied experience in software engineering and cognitive systems.
- Expertise in cognitive load management, human error analysis, decision-making under uncertainty, and human–automation interaction.
- Experience designing, testing, and evaluating multimodal AI/ML systems (voice, NLP, data visualization).
- Proven ability to work in high-stakes, complex domains with human-centric AI solutions.
Preferred Skills & Qualifications
- Strong ability to analyze human cognition across voice, text, and visual modalities.
- Experience translating cognitive principles into engineering requirements for multimodal AI systems.
- Familiarity with designing and testing human–AI teaming frameworks to optimize decision support.
- Hands-on experience with simulation, user-in-the-loop experiments, and multimodal interface evaluation.
