Key Responsibilities
As an Assistant Manager – Quant and Risk Analyst, you will:
- Design, test, and optimize sanctions screening frameworks (name and payment screening).
- Enhance sanctions models using fuzzy matching algorithms, rules logic, and thresholds.
- Conduct periodic reviews of screening models to ensure compliance with global sanctions standards (OFAC, EU, UN, HMT).
- Perform tuning and threshold calibration using historical alert data and false positive metrics.
- Analyze outcomes to provide data-driven insights for risk mitigation.
- Maintain comprehensive model documentation, validation reports, and governance records.
- Collaborate with compliance, technology, and business teams to support audits and regulatory reviews.
Skills & Qualifications
Required
- 1–3 years of experience in sanctions screening, risk analytics, or financial crime compliance.
- Familiarity with leading screening platforms (FircoSoft, Bridger, Actimize, Oracle Watchlist Screening).
- Strong technical proficiency in Python, R, SQL, SAS.
- In-depth understanding of global sanctions regimes (OFAC, EU, UN, HMT).
- Ability to conduct alert quality analysis and root cause investigations.
- Strong written and verbal communication for client and stakeholder interactions.
Preferred
- Exposure to AI/ML techniques for entity resolution or fuzzy matching optimization.
- Experience integrating sanctions screening within broader AML/CFT frameworks.
- Prior involvement in regulatory examinations or independent validations.
