About the Role
The Assistant Manager – Engineering (Controls Assurance) plays a critical role in supporting clients through risk-based engineering reviews, process control audits, and technology assurance projects. You’ll be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing control frameworks that enhance operational reliability and regulatory compliance.
This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including IT, risk, and operations, to assess control effectiveness, identify gaps, and recommend improvements that support business integrity and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Control Assurance
- Design, assess, and implement engineering and operational control frameworks aligned with organizational objectives.
- Conduct risk assessments and control testing to ensure compliance with internal and external standards.
- Evaluate control systems, perform audits, and identify areas for optimization.
Technology & Compliance
- Support ITGC (IT General Controls), SOX compliance, and other assurance engagements.
- Collaborate with technology teams to integrate automated control systems.
- Assist clients in meeting regulatory, operational, and engineering assurance standards.
Project Management & Collaboration
- Manage small-to-mid-sized projects within the Controls Assurance portfolio.
- Coordinate across departments and with client stakeholders for smooth project delivery.
- Prepare and present reports, dashboards, and recommendations to leadership teams.
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities to automate control testing using digital tools and analytics.
- Support the development of best practices, methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5–8 years of experience in engineering controls, risk assurance, or technology audit.
- Strong knowledge of control design, risk management, and compliance frameworks.
- Hands-on experience in controls assurance, internal audit, or process automation projects.
- Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.), control testing tools, and MS Excel.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Certifications such as CISA, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, or PMP are advantageous.
