About the Role
As an Assistant Manager in the EY IDD Cyber team, you’ll be part of a high-performing global network that advises clients on cyber risk management during transactions — from pre-deal due diligence to post-deal integration. You’ll assess cybersecurity postures, identify red flags, recommend remediation plans, and support clients in creating resilient and secure business environments.
You will also contribute to the development of target operating models (ToM), cybersecurity strategies, and transaction readiness reports that influence executive decisions at global organizations.
Key Responsibilities
As an EY Assistant Manager – Cybersecurity (IDD), your role will include:
- Conducting cyber due diligence and security assessments during M&A transactions (pre-deal, sign-to-close, post-deal).
- Evaluating client cloud and on-premise infrastructure to identify vulnerabilities and compliance gaps.
- Performing threat intelligence research on the deep and dark web using OSINT tools to detect data breaches and threats.
- Designing target operating models (ToM), cybersecurity strategies, and data protection frameworks.
- Preparing comprehensive cybersecurity assessment reports, benchmarking analysis, and risk mitigation roadmaps.
- Collaborating with EY global teams on transaction-driven cybersecurity initiatives for Private Equity and Corporate clients.
- Supporting proposal development, client pitches, and business development activities.
- Mentoring junior team members and fostering continuous learning.
Skills and Attributes for Success
- Expertise in cybersecurity consulting, information security management, and cyber due diligence.
- Hands-on knowledge of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, and CIS controls.
- Experience with GDPR, CCPA, NIS2 and other global privacy regulations.
- Strong understanding of Zero Trust architecture, Defense in Depth, and Cloud Security principles.
- Ability to translate complex cyber risks into actionable business insights.
- Proficiency in preparing professional deliverables using MS PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Visio.
- Excellent client-facing, communication, and presentation skills.
Qualifications
- 6–8 years of experience in information security, cybersecurity, or IT risk management.
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, IT, or Business Administration (B.Tech/M.Tech/MCA/MBA/PGDM).
- One or more certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CCSP, CISM, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor/Implementer.
- Exposure to cloud, OT security, and vulnerability management tools like DLP, Firewalls, Pen Testing, and Incident Response systems.
Desirable Experience
- Project management experience in delivering cybersecurity programs or IT risk transformation initiatives.
- Experience working with cross-border clients under tight M&A timelines.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to innovate and propose new service ideas.
