About the Role
As Assistant Manager – SOAR, you will lead the development and maintenance of automation playbooks, optimize security workflows, and mentor SOC analysts. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to enhance cybersecurity operations, reduce false positives, and streamline threat detection and response.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and optimize SOAR playbooks for automated threat detection and response.
- Integrate SIEM, EDR, and threat intelligence feeds into SOAR platforms.
- Create custom automation scripts using Python and Cortex XSOAR automation engine.
- Tune existing workflows to improve accuracy, performance, and reduce false positives.
- Document playbook logic, automation scripts, and incident response procedures.
- Mentor L1 SOC analysts and contribute to SOC knowledge sharing.
- Support cross-functional teams in cybersecurity projects, ensuring compliance and risk management.
- Keep abreast of emerging threats, automation strategies, and SOAR best practices.
Required Skills & Expertise
- Hands-on experience with Cortex XSOAR and SOAR playbook development.
- Proficiency in Python scripting for security automation.
- Working knowledge of SIEM tools (Splunk, QRadar, Elastic).
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity concepts: malware, phishing, MITRE ATT&CK, threat detection, and incident response.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of incident response frameworks (NIST, SANS).
- SOAR Certified Automation Engineer or equivalent certifications.
- Prior experience in mentoring and leading SOC teams.

- B.Tech / BE / B.Sc / BCA or a Master’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering (Full-time programs).
