Key Responsibilities
As Head – Procurement, your core responsibilities will include:
✅ Strategic Procurement Leadership
- Lead end-to-end procurement planning, sourcing, and material delivery for projects.
- Develop and enforce procurement policies and ensure compliance across departments.
- Define and track Procurement KPIs and drive performance improvements.
✅ Vendor & Supplier Management
- Build and consolidate a reliable, quality-driven supply base.
- Oversee supplier relationships, ethics compliance, and service level performance.
- Implement vendor performance metrics and improvement plans.
✅ Operational Efficiency & Cost Control
- Drive cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities to reduce project-level procurement costs.
- Leverage enterprise-level sourcing volumes to maximize procurement ROI.
- Resolve procurement bottlenecks related to delivery timelines and supplier capability.
✅ Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work closely with internal teams including Engineering, Projects, and Operations.
- Resolve supplier issues by collaborating with SBUs and capability centers.
- Ensure alignment with internal stakeholders for timely and efficient deliveries.
✅ Monitoring, MIS & Reporting
- Track procurement progress reports, delivery milestones, and project compliance.
- Conduct process reviews and implement continuous improvements.
- Oversee resource planning and staffing for project-based procurement teams.
Essential Skills & Competencies
🛠️ Must-Have Skills
- Expertise in strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, and procurement systems.
- Strong knowledge of SCM processes, commercial terms, and compliance.
- Leadership in managing large teams and supplier ecosystems.
- Ability to anticipate supply chain risks and implement mitigation strategies.
💡 Preferred Skills
- Experience in project planning and scheduling.
- Exposure to global supply chain trends and digital procurement tools.
- Strong analytical thinking, presentation, and communication abilities.
Minimum Qualifications
- Educational Requirement:
- Bachelor of Engineering (BE/BTech)
- MBA preferred
- Membership in SCM organizations (e.g., IIMM) is a plus
- Professional Experience:
- 15+ years in procurement, supply chain, or operations
- Preferably in oil & gas, manufacturing, or engineering industries
