Summary

Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India LLP is seeking a dynamic Analyst – Digital Manufacturing Systems (Operational Excellence & Smart Manufacturing) to join its Supply Chain & Network Operations (SCNO) practice in Bengaluru, India.

As part of Deloitte’s Technology & Transformation team, you’ll help global clients design and implement Industry 4.0, Smart Factory, and Operational Excellence initiatives. About the Role

As an Analyst – Digital Manufacturing Systems (OpEx & SmartX) at Deloitte, you will work closely with clients to analyze manufacturing operations, identify performance gaps, and implement Industry 4.0 solutions. You’ll be part of a team that leverages Lean methodologies, analytics, and digital transformation frameworks to improve productivity, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.

This role offers a blend of technical analysis, strategic consulting, and hands-on implementation, providing exposure to a variety of industries, including automotive, pharma, chemicals, FMCG, and metals/mining.


Key Responsibilities

Operational Excellence & Lean Transformation

  • Conduct process diagnostics, value stream mapping, and baseline KPI analysis (OEE, FPY, throughput, cost/unit).
  • Design and execute cost-out and efficiency improvement programs focused on Lean, TPM, SMED, 5S, and RCA.
  • Deliver measurable impact such as cost reduction, yield improvement, and throughput optimization.

Digital Manufacturing & Industry 4.0

  • Support Industry 4.0 maturity assessments, pilot programs, and digital use case deployment (MES, SCADA, IIoT, analytics).
  • Collaborate with ecosystem partners to implement Smart Manufacturing solutions.
  • Build business cases, benefit models, and KPI dashboards to track operational performance.

Client Engagement & Delivery

  • Facilitate client workshops, Kaizen events, and performance reviews.
  • Develop high-quality deliverables including reports, presentations, SOPs, and playbooks.
  • Manage stakeholder communication and support project management activities.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing operations, Lean methodologies, and process improvement frameworks.
  • Working knowledge of Digital Manufacturing Systems (DMS) such as MES, SCADA, and IIoT.
  • Familiarity with analytics platforms (Power BI, Tableau) and basic SQL scripting.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills using tools like A3, 8D, and Six Sigma (Green Belt preferred).
  • Strong presentation, communication, and data visualization skills.
  • Comfort working in both shop-floor and boardroom environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education:
    • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering.
    • MBA/PGDM preferred.
  • Experience:
    • 0–2 years in manufacturing operations, consulting, or digital transformation roles.
    • Demonstrated results in cost optimization, productivity improvement, or Smart Manufacturing initiatives.
  • Certifications (Preferred):
    • CPIM/CSCP (ASCM), CMRP (SMRP), or equivalent.
    • Exposure to SAP S/4HANA (PP/QM/PM) modules.
  • Industry Exposure:
    • Automotive, Chemicals, FMCG, Metals, or Pharma manufacturing sectors.
