Key Responsibilities
As a Sr Lead Software Engineer – SRE (Python) at JPMorgan Chase, you will:
- Champion the adoption of Site Reliability Engineering principles within your team and across product lines.
- Collaborate with Product teams to define non-functional requirements (NFRs) and availability targets.
- Implement observability and reliability designs for complex, resilient, and scalable systems.
- Create high-quality designs, roadmaps, and program charters, and guide engineers to execute them.
- Conduct resiliency testing through wargames, failover exercises, and chaos experiments.
- Mentor engineers and provide guidance on technical and business-related SRE practices.
- Debug critical components, identify issues, and optimize application reliability.
- Drive SRE culture through internal forums, communities of practice, guilds, and conferences.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Experience: 10+ years in software engineering with hands-on SRE experience.
- Leadership: Experience leading small teams of software engineers.
- Technical Expertise:
- SRE principles and practices, observability, service-level objectives, alerting, telemetry collection.
- Cloud infrastructure, microservices, SDLC, and automation tools.
- Programming proficiency in Python or Java.
- Monitoring Tools: Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, OpenTelemetry.
- Additional Skills: UI development experience with React or Angular is a plus.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication, mentoring, and problem-solving abilities.
