Key Responsibilities
As a Lead Specialist – Research, you will:
- Conduct in-depth research on (re)insurance companies, financials, and markets.
- Retrieve and analyze complex financial data using databases such as SNL, Capital IQ, Moody’s, Fitch, and AM Best.
- Develop actionable insights and analytics to support global stakeholders in risk advisory and reinsurance decisions.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards and other reporting tools for financial analysis.
- Track macro-economic trends, regulatory updates, and sector developments impacting the Property & Casualty (re)insurance industry.
- Provide high-quality research and company/peer analysis to drive business strategy and growth.
- Synthesize complex issues and present them in a clear, concise, and actionable manner.
- Support global teams with UK/US-based client and consulting firm interactions.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with ability to translate data into actionable insights.
- Expert understanding of P&C (re)insurance financial statements, equity, and corporate finance.
- Proficiency in Power BI, MS Office, and VBA for dashboard development and reporting.
- Ability to synthesize complex financial information into coherent analyses.
- Knowledge of credit ratings, global capital models, and AM Best/S&P criteria.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to quickly grasp end-to-end business processes and industry dynamics.
Qualifications & Experience
- MS in Economics, Finance, or MBA in Finance from a reputed university.
- CFA or certifications in (re)insurance markets are advantageous.
- 5+ years of experience in financial research within the (re)insurance sector.
- Prior experience with UK/US-based (re)insurance, broking, or consulting firms is preferred.
- Strong understanding of financial accounting, equity, corporate finance, and sector-specific knowledge in P&C (re)insurance.
