Summary

Kroll is seeking a highly motivated Analyst, Financial Instruments & Technology in Mumbai, India, to join our Alternative Asset Management and Valuation team. This role offers exposure to illiquid investment analysis, complex securities valuation, and alternative asset classes, providing the opportunity to work closely with hedge funds, private equity firms, fund administrators, banks, and institutional investors. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop expertise in valuation of alternative assets, including complex and illiquid investments.
  • Review investment memoranda, structured investment documents, board presentations, and client models.
  • Support client interviews, prepare information requests, and participate in meetings to collect engagement data.
  • Assist in designing financial models for discounted cash flow (DCF), market multiples, market transactions, and option pricing analyses.
  • Perform valuation analysis across industries and geographies using accepted valuation methodologies.
  • Compile financial data summaries, compute ratios, and present analyses in standardized formats.
  • Collaborate with management to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Prepare and present reports, including internal and external client deliverables.
  • Attend industry events to expand knowledge within the alternative asset management community.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • CA, CFA, Master’s in Finance/Accounting/Economics, or MBA from an accredited institution.
  • 0–1 year experience constructing and reviewing valuation and financial models.
  • Knowledge of enterprise valuation (DCF, market approaches) and structured investment models.
  • Familiarity with credit analysis and structured securities such as CLOs, CMBS, RMBS, ABS (Intex or similar tools preferred).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Fundamental understanding of financial valuation theory and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in financial statement analysis, identifying assumptions and limitations.
  • Detail-oriented with strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple assignments.
  • Knowledge of accounting standards (AICPA and other oversight bodies).
  • Familiarity with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and optionally VBA, Python, Power BI.
