KPMG Global Services (KGS) is seeking a highly motivated Assistant Manager / VP – KPE Audit in Bangalore, Karnataka. This role is ideal for chartered accountants (CA/ICAI) or ACCA affiliates with 3–4 years of post-qualification audit experience, preferably in a Big 4 firm. As an Assistant Manager in the KPE audit team, you will lead audit engagements for international clients, manage junior team members, and ensure high-quality financial statement audits in compliance with country-specific statutory requirements. Key Responsibilities
Audit Leadership & Delivery
- Lead audit engagements and deliver high-quality, end-to-end audit deliverables for international KPMG clients.
- Plan audits, including pre-planning activities, risk assessments, and client documentation (PBC requests).
- Manage smaller to medium-sized audit assignments independently, and support larger engagements with guidance from managers.
- Review complex sections of financial statements, preparing workpapers, controls documentation, and audit findings.
Team Management & Mentoring
- Supervise, coach, and mentor junior and semi-experienced team members.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide timely feedback to team members.
- Track and manage open audit issues until resolution, ensuring quality and adherence to deadlines.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong professional relationships with clients and onshore engagement teams through regular meetings.
- Maintain data confidentiality and compliance with KPMG risk management policies.
- Provide regular updates on audit progress, pipeline, and key issues to stakeholders.
Mandatory Skills & Competencies
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to work independently across multiple audit engagements.
Preferred Skills
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Practical experience with IFRS standards.
- Big 4 audit experience is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- Education: Chartered Accountant (CA/ICAI) or ACCA Affiliate.
- Experience: 3–4 years post-qualification in audit or financial services.
- Articleship: For ICAI affiliates, CA articleship with a top or mid-tier accounting firm is preferred.
