Responsibilities

  • Provide analyzer expertise to improve reliability, performance, and long-term equipment effectiveness.
  • Develop and manage equipment strategies and lifecycle plans in line with safety, reliability, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support online and field analyzer applications, including chromatographic, spectroscopic, electrochemical analyzers, and toxic gas detectors.
  • Monitor analyzer performance using statistical tools and implement improvements tracked via performance scorecards.
  • Participate in incident investigations and root-cause analyses to prevent future failures.
  • Provide design and engineering support for greenfield and brownfield projects, including project specifications, calculations, and cost estimations.
  • Oversee vendor and contractor deliverables, conduct FAT/SAT, and support commissioning/start-up activities.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, functional safety, and industry standards for analyzer systems.
  • Mentor and train junior engineers in analyzer operations, instrumentation best practices, and system troubleshooting.

Skills and Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Instrumentation & Controls, Electronics, or Chemical Engineering.
  • 1+ year of experience supporting online process analyzers in oil & gas, refining, or petrochemical industries.
  • Hands-on experience with analytical techniques such as Gas Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, IR/UV Spectroscopy, and physical property analyzers.
  • Knowledge of analyzer communication protocols and DCS/PLC interfaces.
  • Familiarity with equipment from Siemens, Yokogawa, ABB, Emerson, etc.
  • Understanding of maintenance work processes, equipment reliability, and capital efficiency.
  • Work permit eligibility to work in India.

Preferred:

  • Experience with multivariate model-based analyzer applications.
  • Proficiency in OPC servers, Analyzer Data Networks, and DCS/PLC interfaces.
  • Strong skills in data collection and analysis using SAP, Tableau, and Excel analytics.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
