Responsibilities
As a Software Engineer – TCMS at Siemens Mobility, you will:
- Define system requirements and interface specifications for vehicle control.
- Design and implement software components for safety-critical systems.
- Develop control functions using functional block diagrams.
- Generate and execute software test specifications; conduct code reviews.
- Support integration and validation tests for rail vehicles.
- Analyze diagnostics, fix bugs, and develop new control logic to improve train performance.
- Create TCMS concepts for locomotives/trains at vehicle level.
- Implement software upgrades using the V-model approach.
- Conduct training sessions for customers and service colleagues.
- Work independently on TCMS subsystems, including logic block diagrams.
- Apply brake system knowledge (preferred) to software development.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong experience with train/locomotive control systems.
- Expertise in communication protocols (TRDP, MVB, WTB, Ethernet).
- Proficiency in requirement engineering.
- Familiarity with railway standards: IEC 50128, IEC 61131, IEC 61375.
- Strong teamwork, problem-solving, and leadership skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Computer Science.
- 5–8 years of relevant experience in rolling stock or train control engineering.
- Hands-on knowledge of train control, testing, and commissioning.
