Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Manager – Legal (Corporate & Procurement), you will:
- Partner with business units to develop strong contractual frameworks supporting Cognizant’s operations.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents, including:
- Software license & subscription agreements
- Alliance / teaming agreements
- Sub-contracts & vendor service agreements
- RFPs and NDAs
- Analyze legal, commercial, and operational risks in contracts and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure accurate contract provisions.
- Share best practices within the legal team to improve efficiency and business value.
- Manage a team of legal professionals, ensuring service quality and handling escalations.
- Support career development of direct reports through training, mentoring, and coaching.
- Drive innovation in legal processes, enhancing efficiency, compliance, and reporting.
- Provide advance warnings to senior management on deal risks.
- Lead and implement legal training programs across teams.
Qualifications & Certifications
- Law degree from a recognized university or law school.
- Extensive experience in corporate legal advisory, procurement contracts, and vendor negotiations.
- Strong knowledge of software licensing, subscription agreements, and procurement law.
- Proven ability to manage teams, drive legal innovation, and collaborate across business functions.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
