As an IBM DevOps Engineer, you will design, develop, and maintain secure, scalable automation tools for IBM Cloud services. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain highly secure and compliant automation tools for IBM Cloud.
- Use technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, Python, GoLang, NodeJs, Bash in cloud environments (VPC, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Istio, Akamai).
- Mentor and guide junior engineers in implementing solutions.
- Optimize existing DevSecOps workflows and cloud automation tools.
- Document processes and share best practices across teams.
- Manage the full lifecycle of code changes, including development, testing, code reviews, and deployment.
- Implement Helm charts for Kubernetes, including configuration management, templating, versioning, and CI/CD integration.
- Participate in on-call rotations to maintain service uptime.
- Engage in architectural discussions to drive future IBM Cloud service improvements.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a cloud environment in DevOps or software development.
- Strong expertise in CI/CD tools and strategies, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Proficiency with Python, Bash, GoLang, or other high-level programming languages.
- Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure: VPC, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Istio, Akamai.
- Experience leading a squad or technical team for at least 2 years.
- Skilled in troubleshooting, debugging, and improving software systems.
- Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
- Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Knowledge of IBM Cloud services, deployment, and scaling in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with cloud-native monitoring and alerting tools (Prometheus, Grafana, Elasticsearch).
- Solid foundation in Linux internals, networking principles, and endpoint security (TLS, WAF, HTTPS).
- Understanding of security testing, vulnerability identification, and cloud security best practices.
- Ability to quickly adapt to new technologies and changing technical environments.
