Key Responsibilities
Guest Service & Food & Beverage Service
- Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages following JW Marriott service standards.
- Set tables and dining areas according to type of event or service.
- Answer guest questions regarding menu selections and dietary needs.
- Communicate special requests, allergies, and dietary requirements to kitchen staff.
- Record orders accurately using the MICROS POS system.
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with food and beverage service.
Operational & Safety Duties
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including tables, china, and glassware.
- Complete closing duties: restocking items, turning off lights, and securing areas.
- Present accurate bills and process guest payments efficiently.
- Follow all safety and security policies; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe conditions.
Teamwork & Professionalism
- Collaborate with kitchen and service staff to ensure smooth operations.
- Support team goals while maintaining positive working relationships.
- Adhere to JW Marriott’s quality expectations and service standards.
- Maintain professional appearance and uphold confidentiality of proprietary information.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Guest-focused with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Ability to lift and carry objects up to 25 pounds independently, or over 50 pounds with assistance.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in food and beverage service or hospitality.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and lift for extended periods.
- Basic POS and transaction handling skills.
