Key Responsibilities

As an Assistant Manager – M&A at Deloitte India, you will play a vital role in executing transaction diligence and advisory work, including:

  • Developing deep insights into client businesses, transaction drivers, and industry dynamics.
  • Performing financial analysis, evaluating data for trends, anomalies, and red flags.
  • Assisting in the preparation of due diligence reports, Excel models, and client presentations.
  • Gathering and analyzing publicly available information and third-party data sources.
  • Coordinating directly with clients, auditors, and internal teams to validate assumptions.
  • Supporting large, cross-border M&A transactions across sectors.
  • Assisting senior team members in business development and proposal drafting.
  • Delivering high-quality reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.

Skills & Competencies

Ideal candidates will possess the following technical and soft skills:

  • Strong foundation in Indian GAAP; knowledge of IFRS is a plus.
  • Excellent proficiency in MS Excel and data analysis techniques.
  • Working knowledge of financial modeling, transaction reporting, and due diligence.
  • High attention to detail and commercial awareness.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking mindset.
  • Ability to manage tight timelines and multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Desired Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) – Qualified in 1st or 2nd attempt preferred.
  • 0–2 years of relevant experience in financial due diligence, audit, transaction services, or M&A advisory.
  • Prior exposure to corporate finance, deal structuring, or valuation is desirable.

  • Base Location: Chennai (with PAN India projects)
