Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Consultant in Deloitte’s Cloud Infrastructure Team, you will:
1. Infrastructure Design & Management
- Design and deploy highly scalable, fault-tolerant systems on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Implement and manage GCP services like Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine, Cloud Storage, and BigQuery.
- Plan and implement multi-cloud or hybrid-cloud environments when required.
2. Automation & Configuration Management
- Use Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Cloud Deployment Manager, or Ansible to automate infrastructure provisioning.
- Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application deployment using tools such as Jenkins or Cloud Build.
- Leverage Kubernetes and Docker to manage containerized applications.
3. Monitoring & Optimization
- Monitor the health and performance of GCP infrastructure using Cloud Monitoring and Stackdriver.
- Optimize resource utilization for cost-efficiency while ensuring high performance.
- Troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and provide effective solutions to enhance system reliability.
4. Security & Compliance
- Implement and enforce security best practices for GCP infrastructure and resources.
- Configure IAM roles, service accounts, and manage permissions to ensure secure, least-privilege access.
- Collaborate with security teams to ensure compliance with policies and regulations like GDPR or HIPAA.
5. Troubleshooting & Support
- Provide level-2/level-3 support for infrastructure issues and troubleshoot GCP-related problems.
- Resolve incidents and enhance the cloud infrastructure’s reliability.
6. Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with DevOps, development, and security teams to align cloud strategies with business goals.
- Document all aspects of cloud infrastructure setup, configurations, and operational procedures.
- Help mentor and guide junior engineers, sharing best practices and enhancing team expertise.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
- 6+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Proficient with GCP tools such as Compute Engine, Kubernetes Engine (GKE), Cloud Functions, BigQuery, and Cloud Storage.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Cloud Deployment Manager.
- Expertise in CI/CD pipeline development and management using tools like Jenkins and GitLab CI.
- Experience with containerization technologies (Docker) and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of cloud security principles, including encryption, IAM, and firewalls.
Preferred Qualifications
- Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Network Engineer certification.
- Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools like Stackdriver, Prometheus, and Grafana.
- Experience working in multi-cloud or hybrid cloud environments.
- Understanding of serverless computing on platforms like Google Cloud Functions or Cloud Run.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and experience in a DevOps environment.
