Key Responsibilities
As an EHS Manager / Safety Officer, you will play a vital role in maintaining safety compliance and reducing incidents. Responsibilities include:
- Overseeing safety implementation at:
- Ship repair zones
- Housing and labor colonies
- CPCL relocation projects
- Conducting regular yard safety inspections to monitor working conditions and adherence to safety protocols.
- Investigating accidents/incidents, generating detailed reports, and circulating safety alerts.
- Performing risk assessments using HIRA and ensuring compliance with Operational Control Procedures (OCP).
- Inspecting and monitoring the functionality of fire safety equipment:
- Fire tenders, extinguishers, pumps, and hydrants.
- Leading and facilitating EHS audits, including senior management audits.
- Conducting inspections at:
- Ship lift
- Main receiving station & substations
- CPCL pipeline project sites
- Implementing and overseeing Work Permit Systems and Vessel Safety Coordination Committees.
- Promoting EHS awareness campaigns among LTSB employees.
- Performing any other safety-related duties as assigned.
Skills & Competencies Required
To succeed in this EHS leadership role, candidates should have:
- Strong knowledge of environmental safety regulations and best practices.
- Experience in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in safety auditing, HIRA, and OCP.
- Solid understanding of fire safety systems and emergency preparedness.
- Leadership and communication skills to engage cross-functional teams.
- Ability to handle multiple high-risk environments effectively.
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree: Bachelor of Technology (BTech) in Safety, Mechanical, Electrical, or related fields.
- Experience: 5–10 years in EHS management, preferably in shipyards, construction, infrastructure, or petrochemical industries.
