Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the installation of HVAC systems onboard ships, including ducting, chillers, air handling units, and ventilation.
- Interpret technical drawings, HVAC schematics, and system layouts accurately to guide the installation process.
- Collaborate closely with design, planning, and procurement teams to ensure timely delivery and installation of HVAC components.
- Conduct detailed inspections and implement quality control measures to maintain HVAC system standards.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical challenges during installation, ensuring compliance with IMO, SOLAS, and classification society regulations.
- Support commissioning activities and perform comprehensive HVAC system testing onboard.
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental policies during HVAC production activities.
- Liaise effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and classification surveyors for smooth project execution.
- Provide ongoing technical support to production teams, assisting in troubleshooting and corrective actions as needed.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or related discipline.
- 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in HVAC engineering, preferably in shipbuilding or marine environments.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting HVAC and P&ID drawings.
- Deep knowledge of marine HVAC systems and relevant international standards.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and excellent communication skills.
- Familiarity with shipbuilding production processes and workflows.
- Ability to manage teams and coordinate multiple stakeholders.
Preferred Certifications & Knowledge
- HVAC system certifications (preferred).
- Familiarity with ISO standards and classification society rules (DNV, ABS, etc.).
- Experience with health, safety, and environmental compliance in shipbuilding.
