Role Overview
As part of IMC’s Python Strategy Development team, you will collaborate closely with traders, quants, and fellow engineers to build analysis and visualization tools central to trading decisions. This role involves taking ownership of projects from ideation to deployment, balancing delivery speed with code quality, and navigating trade-offs between performance, scalability, and simplicity. Core Responsibilities
- Work with traders, researchers, quants, and engineers to deliver sophisticated trading tools.
- Own the end-to-end development cycle—requirements gathering through to production deployment.
- Write reliable, scalable, and maintainable Python software, with an emphasis on testability.
- Implement advanced automated testing and enable daily deployments for efficient, incremental delivery.
- Make strategic decisions balancing throughput, scalability, simplicity, and maintenance in a complex system landscape. IMC Trading
Skills & Qualifications
Required
- 5–7 years of professional experience in Python software engineering.
- Robust academic background in Computer Science (e.g., B.Tech / B.E).
- Proficiency with numerical and analysis libraries—Pandas, NumPy, SciPy.
- Experience with distributed computing and orchestration tools such as Celery, Dask, Spark, and Kubernetes.
- Familiarity with data access and persistence technologies including S3, MongoDB, Redis, InfluxDB, Hadoop, and Kafka. IMC Trading
- Strong problem-solving instincts and passion for daily technical challenges.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
