About the Team

Deloitte’s Valuations Team provides advisory and support services to global Deloitte member firms, specializing in business valuations, intangible asset valuations, purchase price allocations, and complex securities valuations.

You’ll collaborate with professionals from across the globe—Canada, UK, Australia, Middle East, and Europe—on cross-border valuation engagements that shape corporate decision-making and financial reporting worldwide.

The team operates as an extension of global Deloitte practices, offering exposure to international valuation standards, regulatory frameworks, and complex modeling assignments.

Key Responsibilities

As a Deputy Manager – Complex Securities Valuations, you will:

• Perform valuations of complex financial instruments such as stock awards, options, warrants, convertible debt, and contingent considerations.
• Develop and review quantitative models using Monte Carlo simulations, lattice frameworks, and option pricing methodologies.
• Prepare valuation reports and deliverables that adhere to international reporting standards.
• Support Deloitte’s global valuation practices, including projects across Canada, the UK, Europe, and the Middle East.
• Optimize valuation models using Python, VBA, and other automation tools.
• Mentor and guide junior analysts, ensuring quality and accuracy in analysis and modeling.
• Collaborate with engagement teams to meet tight deadlines and maintain high professional standards.
• Communicate complex findings clearly through reports, memos, and client discussions.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives and process improvements within the Valuations practice.

Required Skills & Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience in complex securities valuation and financial modeling.
• Expertise in option pricing techniques (Black-Scholes, Binomial Lattice, Monte Carlo).
• Knowledge of credit risk assessment and synthetic rating approaches.
• Experience in valuing early-stage startups and venture-backed companies.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, Python, VBA, and valuation databases (Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters).
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently under tight deadlines.
• Prior experience in Big 4 firms or investment banking valuation teams is an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA – International) certification.
• Practical exposure to US 409A valuations and venture capital fund valuations.
• Familiarity with international valuation standards (IVS, IFRS, GAAP).
• Proficiency in data visualization and model optimization using automation tools.
• Experience working in global valuation environments.
