Key Responsibilities
As an Assistant Mechanical Engineer (HVAC), you’ll contribute to world-class building projects by:
- Designing and developing HVAC systems including ductwork, piping layouts, and equipment selection.
- Performing thermal load calculations using HAP or IES VE software.
- Preparing BIM design markups, detailed equipment schedules, and schematic drawings.
- Creating HVAC design drawings using AutoCAD and Revit MEP.
- Coordinating with architectural, structural, and electrical engineering teams to ensure seamless project integration.
- Conducting clash detection and coordination using Navisworks.
- Ensuring compliance with UK (CIBSE, BSRIA) and Middle East (ASHRAE, local authority) standards and regulations.
- Participating in design reviews, value engineering, and sustainable design discussions.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Experience: Minimum 2+ years of relevant HVAC design experience.
- Strong understanding of HVAC design principles, systems, and equipment.
- Proficiency in HAP, IES VE, AutoCAD, Revit MEP, and Navisworks.
- Familiarity with UK and Middle East building codes and HVAC standards.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and coordination skills.
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional certifications such as LEED, CIBSE Membership, or ASHRAE affiliation.
- Experience in energy-efficient and sustainable HVAC system design.
- Prior exposure to BIM workflows and multi-discipline coordination.
