Key Responsibilities
Data Pipeline Development & Management
- Design, develop, and optimize ETL pipelines to process healthcare data from multiple sources.
- Build scalable data workflows for structured and unstructured datasets using Python and pandas.
Database & Data Warehouse Management
- Maintain SQL databases and data warehouses for analytics and reporting.
- Collaborate on data modeling and schema design for optimized performance and storage.
Big Data & Cloud Infrastructure
- Implement Big Data solutions using Hadoop, Spark, Hive, or similar frameworks.
- Leverage cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) for storage, processing, and integration solutions.
Reporting & Data Accessibility
- Build pipelines to support dashboards and visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI.
- Ensure data security, compliance, and accessibility for stakeholders.
Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support
- Work with Data Scientists and Analysts to deliver clean datasets for machine learning and predictive modeling.
- Partner with Product Owners and business teams to translate data requirements into technical solutions.
Healthcare Data Expertise
- Manage healthcare datasets including claims, EHRs, and patient-centric data.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA, HITECH Act, and other healthcare regulations.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.
- 7+ years of professional experience in data engineering or related roles.
- Hands-on experience with Python, pandas, SQL, and ETL pipelines.
- Expertise in Big Data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, Hive).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and data storage/processing services.
- Familiarity with reporting tools such as Tableau and Power BI.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security, and healthcare compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or containerized workflows.
- Knowledge of healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR).
- Understanding of machine learning workflows and data preparation.
- Familiarity with version control (Git) and Agile methodologies.
