Key Responsibilities
As an OHS&E Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance, driving safety initiatives, and implementing risk controls across project sites:
- Develop and implement OHS&E management systems, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with local statutory laws, ISO standards, and client HSE requirements.
- Identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and implement effective control measures.
- Conduct site inspections, safety audits, and accident investigations.
- Deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees and subcontractors.
- Maintain records of incidents/accidents and generate HSE performance reports.
- Lead emergency response planning and conduct regular drills.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to enforce safe practices.
- Monitor waste management, pollution control, and sustainability efforts.
- Foster a strong safety culture and drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Strong expertise in construction industry HSE management.
- Knowledge of statutory regulations, ISO 14001, OHSAS/ISO 45001 standards.
- Excellent skills in risk assessment, accident investigation, and safety audits.
- Strong communication and training abilities to influence diverse teams.
- Proactive approach to sustainability and environmental management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Occupational Safety.
- Professional certifications: NEBOSH, IOSH, OSHA, or Diploma in Industrial Safety.
- 8–12 years of relevant OHS&E/HSE experience in the construction or engineering sector.
