Key Responsibilities
As a Chevron Cloud Engineer – Azure, you will ensure seamless delivery and support of cloud products and services across Chevron’s enterprise. You will leverage cutting-edge technologies to optimize cloud infrastructure and drive digital transformation initiatives.
Responsibilities include:
- Maintain and troubleshoot Azure cloud and on-premises environments.
- Deploy, manage, and automate modern and legacy environments using DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) methodologies.
- Design and implement application security solutions for cloud and on-prem applications.
- Collaborate with software engineering teams to evaluate and recommend optimal cloud solutions.
- Enhance and optimize existing systems for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Educate internal teams on cloud best practices and emerging technologies.
- Design, develop, and deploy modular, secure cloud systems aligned with Chevron IT standards.
- Develop and maintain cloud solutions following industry best practices and compliance requirements.
Required Skills & Competencies
- Advanced proficiency in Azure cloud platforms, hybrid cloud, and multi-cloud environments.
- Strong knowledge of cloud automation, DevOps pipelines, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools.
- Experience in cloud security, networking, and resource management.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in complex IT environments.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across global teams.
- Self-driven, adaptable, and capable of prioritizing tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Team-oriented with strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
- 7+ years of relevant work experience in cloud engineering, Azure platform, or enterprise IT environments.
- Proven track record of designing, deploying, and maintaining cloud infrastructures.
- Familiarity with cloud security policies, compliance standards, and enterprise IT frameworks.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, global operations supporting business needs across time zones.
